He did it. Martin Bysiewicz, owner of Fast Marine LLC, crossed his wake back under the Sunshine Skyway at 12:37 p.m. on Sep 4, 2026 β alone β closing the Great Loop on a jet ski in 18 days, 5 hours, 23 minutes β fast enough to take down two records at once: Robert Youens' 19d 13h 1m solo/single-engine mark (by 1d 7h 38m) and David Fries' Guinness-ratified 22d 5h 40m PWC mark (by 4d 0h 17m). Teammate Steven Fulladosa rode alongside on a second ski for most of the Loop but didn't make the final leg, so Martin ran the last stretch and the finish solo. They had first set off Aug 14 but scrapped that run and restarted clean on Aug 17, so the record clock counts from the redo. Rather than a strict daylight-only run, they used the states that permit nighttime PWC operation to push a few hours after dark before resting β a pace somewhere between a daylight ski run and a boat's around-the-clock push.

Their run closed the loop through the Tenn-Tom, Mobile and an open-Gulf Big Bend crossing on the final day β the last 170 miles straight across the water to the Skyway.

Dario Martinez, earlier listed as a possible rider, has confirmed he won't be making the trip.
Fast Marine LLC is a jet-ski service, repair and performance shop in Parrish, Florida β about 25 miles from the Skyway β covering Tampa Bay south to Fort Myers with both in-shop and mobile mechanics, specialising in Sea-Doo work.

This is the whole game. A ski carries 18.5 gallons. A rider who completed the Loop on a far milder 170 hp Sea-Doo reported roughly 100 miles per tank and still carried 20 gallons in jerry cans for the long stretches. A supercharged 325 hp ski will do meaningfully worse. Over ~6,000 miles that's a lot of fuel stops β and unlike a boat, there's little room for reserve. The team is attacking exactly this: sponsor Shoreline Jetskis is fitting hidden auxiliary fuel tanks to stretch the range between stops.
Going in, the team said they were "still unsure how this will play out" β several marks at once, with Martin Bysiewicz after the individual categories and the group after a team first. Here's how 18d 5h 23m landed against each:

The Guinness PWC category is written for an individual β "to be attempted by an individual" β which fits Martin's ride β and he finished it alone. The team found Guinness very hard to reach before the run, so ratification of the new mark is pending. In the meantime the whole run was streamed live on public GPS, so anyone can verify the 18d 5h 23m independently.
